Electronics engineering and PCB design

At Formekta, we provide electronics engineering and PCB design support from early architecture and schematic through to PCB layout, prototyping, and test. The focus is reliable, manufacturable designs with clear documentation for supplier handover.

What We Do

Circuit Design

From concept through to schematic. Power management, sensing, control, and communication circuits designed for reliable prototypes and production.

Typical projects

  • Battery powered devices and charging systems

  • Sensor and data logging products

  • Bluetooth and wireless connected products

  • Motor, pump, and actuator controllers

  • LED, display, and user interface electronics

  • Prototype to production support for small runs

PCB Layout

2-layer to 6-layer PCB layout, optimised for manufacturing, assembly, and EMC compliance. Clear stack-up, placement, routing, and design rule set-up.

Component Selection

Parts selected with availability, cost, and long-term supply in mind. Alternatives documented to reduce risk during purchasing and production.

Firmware Architecture

Hardware designed with firmware requirements in mind, including pin planning, interfaces, and test points. Firmware support is available where required, depending on project scope.

Technologies and Applications

Microcontrollers: ESP32, STM32, Arduino-compatible platforms, PIC, AVR

Sensors: Temperature, pressure, proximity, IMU, environmental

Communication: WiFi, Bluetooth, LoRa, cellular, RS485, CAN

Power: Battery management, solar charging, DC-DC conversion, AC-DC supplies

Motor Control: Brushless DC, stepper, servo control circuits

Interfaces: USB, Ethernet, displays, keypads, indicator LEDs

Electronics and PCB FAQs

  • A short product description, any existing sketches or CAD, target power source (battery or mains), and your key constraints such as size, cost, and environment. If you already have a prototype or reference unit, photos and notes are helpful.

  • Yes. I can develop the circuit, select components, then complete the PCB layout with manufacturing outputs for assembly. I also provide a BOM and assembly notes to support prototyping and production.

  • Yes. I can support prototype ordering, assembly coordination, and bring-up testing. For firmware heavy projects, I can support hardware validation and interface planning, and confirm firmware scope separately.

  • Typically Gerbers and drill files, pick and place data, a BOM with part numbers, and assembly notes. I package these in a clear handover set so your manufacturer can quote and build with fewer questions.

  • Yes. I can review existing designs, identify likely risks, and propose improvements. If you have files, photos, or a prototype unit, I can work from that and advise the best next step.

  • Timing depends on complexity, availability of requirements, and how many iterations are needed. A straightforward board can move quickly once the scope is clear, while more complex systems take longer. I will confirm a realistic timeline after a brief review.
