Industrial design

and product development

At Formekta, we provide industrial design and product development support from early concept through to CAD, prototyping, and supplier handover. Our focus is on designs that function reliably, feel right in the hand, and are practical to manufacture at scale.

How the process works

Define the brief, constraints, and success criteria

  1. Concept development and direction selection

  2. 3D CAD development and design detailing

  3. Prototype builds and iteration based on testing

  4. DFM review and supplier handover pack

What you receive

  • 3D CAD files (STEP) and production drawings if required

  • Prototype guidance and iteration notes

  • Materials and manufacturing recommendations

  • Supplier handover pack, including key dimensions and tolerances

  • Clear next-step plan for production or further development

Best for

  • New product ideas that need a clear path to prototype

  • Existing products that need refinement, better usability, or improved manufacturability

  • Mechanical assemblies and mechanisms that need robust engineering detail

  • Projects that need both design and electronics integration support

What We Do

Concept Development

We start by understanding your requirements, target market, and manufacturing constraints. Concepts are developed with feasibility in mind.

3D CAD Modeling

Detailed models in SolidWorks or Fusion 360. Parametric design means changes are fast and iterations are efficient.

Design for Manufacturing

We design for injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, and other processes. Parts are designed to be manufacturable from day one.

Technical Documentation

Engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications ready for quotes and production.

What You'll Receive

  • 3D CAD files (STEP, IGES, native format)

  • Engineering drawings

  • Bill of materials

  • Material and process recommendations

  • Rendering and presentation images (if required)

Typical Project Timeline

  • Simple products: 2-4 weeks

  • Complex products: 6-12 weeks

  • Ongoing development: Retainer arrangements available

Timelines depend on scope, revisions, and testing requirements.
